For MP3 files
MP3 noise removal
Clean MP3 interviews, voice notes and talks, and get an MP3 back, or a WAV if you still need to edit.
Cleaned on your own device — the file is never uploaded.
The problem
What gets in the way
MP3 is everywhere: recorders, phones, old archives and downloads. The noise is baked into the file, and every round of editing and saving as MP3 again costs a little more quality.
- Hiss from a handheld recorder
- Room noise in a lecture or meeting
- Fans and air conditioning
- Background chatter
What you get
A clean voice, ready to use
- An MP3 back at about the source bitrate (at least 160 kbps)
- Or a WAV, so the next edit isn’t another lossy step
- Loudness normalisation built in
- Peaks held under the ceiling, so the MP3 doesn’t clip
How it works
Four steps, one clean file
Step 1: Pick your settings
Podcast (−16 LUFS) loudness suits most speech. Same as original gives you an MP3; choose WAV if you will edit further.
Step 2: Drop the MP3
Drag the MP3 onto the tool, or choose it from your files.
Step 3: Let it clean
Your browser cleans the MP3 on your own computer and it is never uploaded. The first file takes a little longer while our speech AI loads.
Step 4: Compare and keep it
The clean MP3 downloads by itself when it is ready. Play the A/B preview to switch between original and cleaned at the same moment, or change a setting and choose Download again.
For this recording
Recommended settings
- Loudness
- Podcast (−16 LUFS)
- Output format
- Same as original
Same as original keeps it an MP3 at about its own bitrate. For more editing, WAV avoids a second round of MP3 compression.
Set them in the tool before you add the file: they are used for the automatic download, and you can change them afterwards and download again.
Good to know
- Echo and room reverb stay as recorded: it removes noise, not the sound of the room.
- Heavy MP3 artefacts already in the file, like a warbling or swirly sound, can’t be undone.
Formats & limits
What goes in, what comes out
- MP3
Same as original: MP3. Or choose WAV (lossless) or M4A.
- MP3, M4A and video audio tracks are written in mono at about the source bitrate (at least 160 kbps): the cleaned voice sits in the centre.
- A low-bitrate MP3 is written at 160 kbps at least, so the file may be slightly bigger than the original.

FAQ
Common questions
Will the MP3 lose quality?
Any MP3 export is a new lossy encode, so the tool writes it at about the source bitrate and never below 160 kbps. If you plan to edit again, export WAV and encode only once at the end.
Why is my clean MP3 mono?
The cleaned voice is the same in both channels, and a mono MP3 spends all its bits on that one voice, so it sounds better at the same size. It plays in both speakers.
Can I convert it to another format?
Yes. Set Output format to WAV or M4A before cleaning, or afterwards and choose Download again.
Is my file uploaded?
No. The cleaning runs inside your browser, on your own computer. Your audio and video never leave your device; our server only receives the file’s length and format to check your allowance.
Is it free?
A free account cleans 30 minutes a month, no card needed. The paid plans, Creator (9 hours), Pro (30 hours) and Studio (100 hours) a month, take files up to 3 hours and 4 GB each. See the pricing page for details.
